Why bother to build rapport?

At her husband’s holiday party, a friend of mine met her husband’s colleague who originally came from China.  This colleague shared the story about his brother who’d been climbing the corporate ladder in his homeland, and he became so miserable.

To change his life, his brother walked away from his career to open a whiskey bar. It became a great success.

But first his brother found that for his new business to succeed he’d have to build rapport and relationship with the whiskey distillers.

He quickly discovered that with rapport and with mutual trust he’d be assured of being given the bottles from the best barrels of whiskey they produced.

His natural ability to be genuine and to build rapport was the secret to his success.  To some this is intuitive. To others they need to learn the secrets of how to achieve this level of rapport.

Having an authentic rapport with other people is a step that cannot be missed. There is deep awareness in how to find rapport with others. When my clients discover this, so much more is possible.
