Here is what I offered.
- Listen.
- Give attention and take attention. I believe the one differentiator that will get you the most power is your ability to focus on the other.
- See them. Let them see you.
- Listen to learn. Get comfortable with this interaction. Much of it is non-verbal.
- To find comfort, find your breath.
- And, most of all, and as difficult as it is, let go of your devices. Don’t let them get in the way of you making a connection with others.
